It’s here guys, my favourite week of the fashion year. Haute Couture Week has began.
Last night, Atelier Versace welcomed in the week with a collection that was modern whilst still rooted in reality. When I say rooted, as rooted as £10,000 gowns can be. Gigi Hadid opened the collection, titled Athletic Couture, which featured gowns with ergonomic lines which traced the curves of its’ models, harness straps and white ski pants and matching zip tops highlighted with oranges and blues, all following a theme which could loosely be termed sporty. Not the average couture collection in my personal opinion.
So for university I have to do some research into the trends I can spot throughout the London Collections Men 2016 shows, and I thought why not kill two birds with one stone and make a blog post out of it.
Award season is now undergo after the 2016 Golden Globe Awards last night. After three years with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the show, former host Ricky Gervais was back.
So once again I am starting off yet another post by apologising for not being active recently. I had a rather dramatic end to 2015 with a lot of things going on in my life which meant I had to put a lot of things on hold, but I’m here, healthy and happy for a brand new year which has a lot of positive things in store.
Life has been super hectic recently, with my first (extremely complex) university assignments (which I should currently be focusing on) as well as working 24/7, I have found it virtually impossible to fit in blogging as well, but when a Chanel show hits the runway, you just have to find the time.
For those of you who don’t know a lot about me other than the fact that my name is Annie and I (obviously) love high fashion, I also work in a designer, multi-brand jewellery store called Cadenzza.
The concept of Cadenzza formed back in 2012, then opening it’s very first store in Innsbruck, Austria, just 9 months after the first talk about it’s creation. And within months it expanded across the world to open its first UK store in Westfield Statford, boasting as a one of a kind, trend-led jewellery store targeting the fashion-conscious females in the world. Now with 5 stores in the UK’s capital, and one in all Birmingham, Meadowhall and my home town Liverpool (as well as having stores all over the world), it is expanding fast!
If you ask most fashion lovers what the next major date on their calendar is, it will no doubt be November 5th, the release of Olivier Rousteing’s collaboration with high street retailer H&M. So with just 15 days to go until the collection goes live, it is time to start planning what pieces you’re going to try and get your hands on!
